Looking at the readings, I'm curious about something in chapter 8. I'm going to pose a question, maybe it will spark some conversation because I don't know that I'm clear in the meaning of it. In verse 17, what do you think is being referenced when Paul talks about joint-heirs? Joint-heirs of what? I see that it says we would be glorified together with Christ, but if Paul is saying we are joint-heirs of being glorified with Christ, what does that mean?

Anyone have any thoughts on this yet?

There's a passage in chapter 9 where Paul discusses God's sovereignty, and I feel this is something that we believers need to have a constant reminder of. If nothing else, we need to keep it in the forefront of our minds at all times because so many of us, including myself, have a tendency to question God at times. But just as Paul says in verse 20 of chapter 9, who are we to question God or tell Him how something should be accomplished. I also like how Paul mentions that the scriptures say God raised up Pharaoh so that He could show His power in Him and that His name would be declared throughout all the earth (Exodus 9:16) People often ask why bad people exist, or why do bad things happen and I think it's possible that sometimes God allows bad people and bad situations to exist so that His mercy, power, grace or whatever can be demonstrated to the world. I do not believe that God ever creates tragedy, but I do think He will sometimes allow it in order to accomplish His sovereign will. And let's not forget, it is never our place or right to question His will because He is sovereign.

I’ll give my thoughts in a little bit. I know the verse your talking about and I’ve heard several teachings on it over years. I know what I believe in my heart when I say the words but let me read it again. Talk to you soon😊
