So I will admit, though I've always been a big reader, I've never really gotten my feet wet in the Christian fiction genre. I read the first two Left Behind novels many years ago but that's about it. So does anyone have any recommendations for me to try? Author, title and a brief explanation of why you liked it would be appreciated! God bless!

I have to say I don't read much outside of the Bible lately. Not because I don't want to I just get hooked and it takes me away from everything and everyone else. When I do read it's usually Dee Henderson or Tracie Peterson but I think you'd enjoy Frank Peretti's books, "This Present Darkness" and " Piercing the Darkness" These two books really opened my eyes to the spiritual warfare that goes on our behalf. Changed my life!!!

Changed my life!!! I'd have to say I'm with you on that first point, I know just what you mean. Between my readings for the Bible study here and my personal readings I can't seem to get enough of the Word anymore. I don't know if it's my situation (I'm sure that has a lot to do with it) but I just find myself wanting to know Him more the more I read and think about what He's saying each time I read my Bible. I've come to love the KJV version too, which is so strange because up until a few months back I always had trouble reading from the KJV, but now it's the only one I'll use and I have several kinds of KJV Bibles (study, reference, prophecy). Thank you for the recommendations, I will check out Peretti and maybe the library will have something I can take a look at soon. The main hurdle I always face is thinking that with what time I have left, is anything besides the Word worth spending my time reading? It's truly amazing the change of perspective you receive when you're told your time is limited. It's a shame we don't always live our lives with that thought in mind, but honestly, we all should regardless of health because tomorrow is promised to no man.

lizrodriguez67, I thought you might like to know I found the first book you recommended at the library. I've asked lorikay to pick it up for me soon. I'll let you know what I think when I've had a chance to go through it! Kinda excited.
