Using the Collapse/Expand Feature with Category Title Bars
We have a feature on the forum that allows you to expand and collapse the category title bars to show or hide the boards for that category. This can make it easier and faster to find new posts. Expanding and collapsing the boards is simple, but there are no visual clues that it is possible when you are on the forum page so this tutorial will give you the information you need to use this feature.
Okay, let's get started...
Step 1. Identifying a Collapsed Category With a New Post
When your category title bars are collapsed and one of the boards in that category have a new post you have not seen, the title bar will be red and there will be a message at the right end of the title bar stating there is a new post waiting (see Figure 1).

Step 2. Expanding the Category That Contains the New Post
Now that you have identified which category contains a new post (in our example we are dealing with the Prayer category) we need to expand the category so that we can see which board contains the new post. To expand the category, place your mouse cursor over the collapsed title bar and left-click anywhere on the bar (see Figure 2).

Step 3. Identifying the Board with the New Post
When you click on the title bar, it will expand, revealing the boards in that category. The board with the new post will be marked with a board icon marked with the word "NEW". You will also see that when the category is expanded, the title bar returns to normal (see Figure 3).

And that's all there is to it! Once you are done viewing all the new posts in that category, when you return to the main forum page the title bar will no longer be red even when collapsed. You can see an example of collapsed categories with no new posts in Figure 1. To collapse an expanded category the steps are the same. If you return to the main forum page without reading the new posts, when you collapse the title bar it will return to red again until you view the new posts. Whatever boards are expanded or collapsed at the time you exit the site, when you return they will be in the condition you left them on your last visit.
